Great time on this tour. It was my friends birthday and was looking for a unique way to celebrate it so capital river cruises were my choice. You get to see so much on this tour, and there were so many things I never saw before, including the navy merchant marine memorial. The tour is in walking distance on a mall, the Kennedy Center, and downtown Georgetown.
We took a short, 45 minute sunset tour of the Washington Harbor area. Tour is guided by pre-recorded audio that points out several sites of interest along the Potomac, with some interesting facts about each site. Drink service was offered on board end staff was very friendly and informative. We had a really great time!
They treated us amazingly. We took the 7pm slot on a Monday night. Unfortunately, we were the only two people who turned up. However, they let the cruise continue.
The staff on board were nice, made us feel at ease, served us quality drinks, and gave a nice cruise.
45 min boat ride around the harbor. Fairly inexpensive and perfect for a summer day! Snacks and drinks on board for purchase. Restrooms available as well. The dining at the harbor is great too.
Forty minute open air cruise of the Potomac River with narration covered a lot of ground for such a short cruise. Snacks & beverages available for purchase (including adult beverages). Staff were friendly & helpful. Tables set up & you can bring your own take-out meal along. Very much enjoyed view of Washington from the river.
The cruise was ok. Basically, it's just a short trip down the river, turn around and back. There's a recorded narrator. There's a bar if you'd like a drink and tables so you can bring a lunch if you want. It was a nice break to sit down and relax for a while before more walking.
We live near DC but this was first time we took this River Cruise. We brought our German guests so they could experience DC from the river. Boarding and ticketing was easy. Pre-taped narration was easy to hear and very informative. Crew was great and our weather for the day was absolutely perfect. Drinks and snacks are available for an extra charge. Our group loved the tour and it was a highlight of their week.
It was my fault for going on one of the hottest days of the year, so I would like to go again in nice weather. The recording that plays throughout the boat during the cruise was either too quiet or there just weren’t any speakers near my seat, as I couldn’t really make out any of recording.
Those points aside, I had a lovely time and the boat crew were super awesome. They went above and beyond to welcome me aboard and make sure we all had a memorable little cruise. I would give 5 stars if I could go again in pleasant weather and find a seat where I could hear the tour.
